Money conversations worth
having after forty
Stonewell offers structured courses for adults in midlife who want to approach household finances, Shariah-compliant investments, and intergenerational wealth with greater clarity and confidence.
Our Courses
Three courses, each with its own thread
Each programme is designed around a specific financial conversation that adults in midlife often find themselves needing to have — with a partner, a parent, an adult child, or simply with themselves.
The First Conversation About Money After Forty
A calm structure for laying out income and obligations side by side, discussing long-held habits without blame, and identifying the decisions worth making jointly. Suitable for couples, single parents, and adults who have recently inherited household financial responsibility.
- Printable conversation prompts included
- Closing reflection workbook
- No prior financial knowledge required
Sukuk and Shariah-Compliant Investment Foundations
Examines sukuk, Islamic unit trusts, Amanah Saham products, and the Shariah-screened components of the Malaysian equity market. Explains underlying principles and how to read disclosure documents. Open to participants of any faith.
- Arabic financial terminology glossary
- Product comparison workbook
- Malaysian market focus
Family Wealth, Quietly Stewarded
For adults in midlife who find themselves caring for ageing parents and supporting adult children simultaneously. Covers joint accounts, gifts, education funding, and the conversations that often surround these arrangements — with frameworks for boundaries and documentation.
- Case studies and template agreements
- Concluding individual session
- Retirement planning protection focus
Why Stonewell
What sets our approach apart
Our programmes are written and facilitated with one audience in mind: adults who have reached midlife with real financial responsibilities and deserve teaching that respects their existing experience.
Designed for 40+
Content is written for people with existing life context — not for newcomers starting from scratch. The pace and framing reflect the decisions adults in midlife actually face.
Malaysian Market Focus
Every example, product reference, and regulatory note is drawn from the Malaysian context — EPF, Amanah Saham, Bank Negara guidelines, and the local tax environment.
Calm, Considered Tone
No pressure tactics, no urgency framing. The courses are structured to support careful thinking, not to push quick decisions.
Practical Materials
Each programme includes workbooks, templates, and reference guides participants can return to after the course is complete.
Shariah-Aware Curriculum
One dedicated course covers Shariah-compliant products in depth. Other programmes note relevant Islamic finance considerations where appropriate.
Small Group Settings
Sessions are kept small to allow genuine discussion and direct engagement with the facilitator. Participants are not lost in large cohorts.
Is there a course that fits where you are right now?

Common Questions
Questions we hear often
If your question is not here, please write to us — we are happy to respond directly.
Do I need a financial background to join these courses?
No prior financial knowledge is required for any of our programmes. The introductory course is specifically designed for adults who have not previously engaged with formal financial planning. The Shariah-compliant investment course does assume some familiarity with investment concepts, but begins from first principles with the relevant terminology.
Are the courses delivered in person or online?
We offer both formats depending on availability. In-person sessions are held at our Bukit Bandaraya centre in Kuala Lumpur. Online sessions are conducted in small groups via video. Please indicate your preference when you enquire and we will advise on the next available intake.
Can I enrol in more than one course?
Yes. Many participants complete two or all three programmes over time. There is no formal sequence required, though participants who are entirely new to financial planning often find it helpful to begin with the introductory course before moving to the investment or intergenerational topics.
Are the courses suitable for non-Muslim participants?
Yes. The Shariah-compliant investment course is explicitly suitable for participants of any faith who want to understand this segment of the Malaysian market. Understanding how these products work is relevant to anyone making investment decisions in Malaysia, regardless of personal religious practice.
What is included in the course fees?
All course materials — workbooks, reference guides, templates, and supplementary readings — are included in the stated fee. There are no additional charges for materials. Participants who join in-person sessions receive printed copies; online participants receive digital versions.
How do I know which course to start with?
We are glad to assist with this. When you send an enquiry, briefly describe your current situation and what prompted your interest. We will suggest the programme that best matches where you are — without any pressure to commit immediately.
